SentryLink is a company that offers a number of services like background checks online. Recently Ripoff Report has been inundated with reports of people less than satisfied with their experience with SentryLink. Supposedly SentryLink has been giving partial reports while charging full price. The most extreme example I read was a woman who only got a street address for her “background check” that cost her $24.95. I did some research and this is what my background search would contain. Mind you this is not something that is shown to you at check out, this is something I had to dig around their site to find.

Now anytime something says that they “may have” something you have to be a bit suspicious. My background check may show a name? They are not even promising that they will tell me the name of the person I am conducting a background check on. Also I am unsure what “Updates have been temporarily suspended.” means. Does that mean that the information they have is outdated? I will never buy anything that does not have some sort of accountability or guarantee.

Computers are an enormous part of daily life from street lights working properly to, banking, and even the one on your desk at work. I am not so sure we are ready for this type of attack. Being attacked is a very big possibility, to be attacked in this way. Two years ago President George W. Bush launched a cyber security initiative that never got off the ground, at this point there is no one “in charge” of this potential disaster. We have no “game plan” on how to avoid it either, which scares me quite a bit. Think of the destruction that could be done to our country, a cyber attack could cause failure of banking and even national electrical problems. Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff is predicting cyber attacks will become a routine warfare tactic in the future. In addition to the threats we already face from criminal or terrorist attackers.
In order to become more prepared against something like this ‘billions of dollars must be spent by both government and industry” said representative of Maryland, Dutch Ruppersberger, Democratic chairman of intelligence sub committee of technical intelligence. We have got to take several drastic measures to ensure our country’s safety. At this moment I think our new president should make this a major priority to keep us safe. Let’s hope our government finds someone to put in charge of this situation and take care of it sooner rather than later.

If there is one thing I’ve learned, it’s that you can’t always believe what companies claim on their sites. It’s ridiculous and I’m frustrated to be honest. That’s one of the reasons why I created this site.

Why Do People Need People Search?

Conducting people searches is incredibly beneficial for everyone. What if you’re dating online and want to see if someone’s telling the truth about their age? How ’bout screening your babysitter? Maybe you’re looking to find your old sweetheart and see if they’re married? There are many reasons why you’d want to pick up the following information on someone:

Address (Do they really live where they claim to?)

Phone Number (Can I actually call them?)

Age / Date of Birth (What’s their Real Age?)

Marital Status (Are they still single? MARRIED??)

Estimated Income & Home Value (Do they have a job or own their own home?)

Jump to my Top Pick for People Search!*

So, I’m A Cheapskate…

I tried to do the Cheap/Free approach at first. It’s kind of funny actually to think of how much time I wasted. Well, not really!?! So picture this…here I am doing a reverse phone search for this guy who just emailed me in response to a bookkeeping ad I posted. Then, I think I found him. I click on the link and it’s another search box wanting me to search for him again. So, I do and they want me to purchase before I see anything. So, I keep looking and finally figured out that I’m not going to find zilch until I purchase one of these things. I went through about 10 of them before I finally found the data. Then, I start going through my list to get a refund. Do these companies even know what in the world customer service is????

And The Winner Is…(Drumroll please)

Anyway, that was a debacle and I learned the hard way. But, the site I found the data on was Net Detective. I was actually surprised because it was a fair price according to the other sites out there. I got unlimited searches: search by name, search by email, search by address, search by phone, all UNLIMITED! Which by the way helps alot because some of those guys charge you up front then want to charge you everytime you search. <Sheesh!> One of the other things I thought was really cool with Net Detective was that they gave me a phone number to call if I had trouble. So, I couldn’t find this one person I was looking for info on and wanted to see if there was a better way. Rather than telling me the better way they actually looked up the record for me. Is that cool or what?

* Includes Free Sex Offender Map! (effective. Jan 1, 2010)

Second Place Goes To…

In the runner-up spot, with very good customer care, great U.S. converage, and a pretty good size database is Complete Detective. Between these two services, you really cannot go wrong.
There are lots of third place winners, but too many to name. You are free to search google and go through the top 10 links you see. But don’t waste your time… I’ve already done that and I’m here to help you out.

So, thanks for listening to me ramble on… Anyways, I hope you’ll find this helpful when it comes time to do some effective people searches online.

And if there is one thing I’ve learned it’s that you can’t always believe what companies claim on their sites. It’s ridiculous and I’m frustrated to be honest with you. That’s one of the reasons why I did this site. There are many reasons why people need to search public records by phone number.

For the Job…

Reverse Cell Searches can be incredibly beneficial for a company. For instance, I work from home and have to hire people occasionally. When you work from home it’s harder to make sure people are doing their job reliably because you can’t see them. So, by doing reverse phone searches I can check people’s public records–court records, criminal, financial, and personal records–we can see patterns in their pasts that will give us a better chance of finding more reliable new hires. If you are bringing people into your office then you definitely want to know what type of person you are bringing into your environment.

Jump to my Top Pick for Reverse Cell Searches!*

So, I’m A Cheapskate…

I tried to do the Cheap/Free approach at first. It’s kind of funny actually to think of how much time I wasted. Well, not really!?! So picture this…here I am doing a reverse phone search on Google for this number that called me. Then, I think I found them. I click on the link and it’s another search box wanting me to search for the number all over again. So I do, and then they want me to purchase the record before I see anything. So, I keep looking and finally realize I’m not going to find zilch until I purchase one of these things.

I got UNLIMITED Cell Records searches, plus background checks, address histories, and all sorts of stuff. Which, by the way, helps a lot because some of those guys charge you up front then want to charge you every time you search. Sheesh! One of the other things I thought was really cool with Net Detective was that they gave me a phone number to call if I had trouble. So, I couldn’t find this one number I was looking for info on and wanted to see if there was a better way. Rather than telling me the better way they actually looked up the record for me! Is that cool or what??

Second Place Goes To…

In the runner-up spot, with very good customer care, great U.S. coverage, and a big database is Complete Detective. I prefer the interface of Net Detective–seems a little easier to get around for a novice computer user. But between these two services, you really cannot go wrong.

There are lots of third place winners, too many to name here. You are welcome to search google for public records or public court records and go through the top 10 links you see. You can also look at the sponsored links on the side. But hey, don’t waste your time. I’ve already done that so you don’t have to!

So, thanks for listening to me ramble on… Anyways, I hope you’ll find this helpful when it comes time to do some effective reverse phone records searches online.

Looking for a Public Records Site? Do Not Pay For One Until You Have Read This!

Avoid the Scams whether it’s Birth Records, Criminal Records, Court Records, Divorce Records, Arrest Records, Marriage Records, Convictions, or Sex Offenders you’re looking for!

My Methods

In this article I have reviewed my Top 3 Public Records search sites so that you don’t have to waste your time exploring all the dead ends. After signing up for dozens of services, I ranked them in terms of accuracy, size, ease of use, and customer awareness. My findings apply to all of the popular Public Record sites listed in the major search engines! (Google, MSN, Yahoo)

How Accurate are Public Records Sites?

No public record finder site is 100% accurate. Here is why:

For instance, if James Jones just moved to a new state, it’ll take time for public records databases to update his records from government agencies, banks, and other private sources.

While some sources update in days, others take weeks, and some only update annually. That’s why it’s best to pick the largest database like I did!

After a bunch of digging, talking to private investigators and industry people, and using all the major services, I’ve come up with the findings below.

Results May Shock You!

What was amazing was how inconsistent results were! After joining dozens of “public records search” sites and searching for people I knew (friends, family, celebrities), about 7 out of 10 sites could not locate records of any people I knew… anywhere!

The good news: The 3 sites below all have solid reputations and positive customer feedback. They will save you time and money and get you the most accurate public records, hands down. Here they are, in order of rank:

Due to the currently dwindling economy, the government finds the best decision to help correct this problem is to release prisoners early from their original sentences in order to decrease the costs of keeping them. This is currently happening in many states and the trend is catching on fast. Thousands have been released, and there is currently a decision waiting to be made in the case of Filemon Arreola, who is now 31. In Oregon in 2007, he was sentenced to prison until November 2022 for charges of counts of rape, assault, coercion and tampering with a witness. This is pretty serious, but apparently the decrease in spending to keep this guy from brutally raping and abusing his former girlfriend until her body was covered with bruises and welts and throwing her out of a moving car is worth it. This is just crazy, and so now is a time more important than ever to keep up with registered sex offenders, criminal background checks, and so on.

They are letting out prisoners by the thousands at an attempt to save money, which is just one of the most terrible things I have ever heard. Have they accounted of the additional court costs, medical costs, funeral costs, psychiatric costs, and the much hardship, worrying and abuse this will bring upon the nation instead? One thing the government should not cut budgets on is our protection, while throwing billions of dollars at failing car and loan companies instead. Cars?! No, things are not going right. Speak out against these terrible decisions, and in the meantime keep up with who is released. Check out the people around you, and stay safe!

With millions of people, many with the same name, it can be difficult to locate people.

There are several tools available online including NetDetective.

A few useful tips:

1. Get their full name.
2. Get their last known address.

Everywhere you turn people are requesting your Social Security Number, and this mainstream way of doing things may have most people convinced that this is a mandatory part of the process for you to sign up for some internet service or other organization. This is not the case, you are not even required to give it to your doctor, unless you have Medicare or Medicaid. People will badger you about getting it, and it may be a fight not to give it to them, you may even have to talk to 8 or 10 different people to resolve the issue in your favor. This is nothing compared to the time and money you will spend trying to undo the damage identity theft will cause for you. It is becoming an epidemic. In 2005 8.3 million Americans were victims of this crime, and with more online shopping and signups this is booming more than ever.

Credible companies do not have the intention of stealing your social security number, but they cannot possible know what each and every employee’s true intentions are. This is just life that applies in a lot of different aspects, but it just means they we as individuals need to take extra care to protect ourselves.

Other ways of identity theft is through a stolen computer. Where do they store everything? In a computer or laptop. Within the last few years all of the following companies have had sensitive information stolen from their systems:

Home Depot

Citigroup

Gap

Hartford Financial Services

AT&T

Pfizer

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs,

the government of Great Britain

Time Warner

and many other organizations. Also in March of 2006 two of Verizon’s company laptops were stolen, putting many employees at risk for identity theft. Unfortunately, that is where you need to give your Social Security Number is to your employer. You can always refuse, but because employers usually like to conduct background checks and other in depth checks, they will probably refuse to hire you as well. Your bank is also another mandatory place to give your Social to so they are able to comply with federal law, and very VERY few others. These are already two different places that have the most important information that you have, so anywhere else use discretion.

Let’s say your stolen identity is resolved right away and your bank refunds everything returns to normal. Your information can still be out there and other accounts may be opened in your name, which you may not find about for years. So lets say 5 years later you try and apply for a loan to buy a house, but you have $1 million dollars in debt? The best thing to do is to keep your personal information as personal as possible. Nobody ever needs your SS# when ordering something online or for signing up. There is no reason.

Gaurd yourself, because you are the only person you can 100% trust.

Be smart. Be safe. Be in control.

If there is one thing I’ve learned, it’s that you can’t always believe what companies claim on their sites. It’s ridiculous and I’m frustrated to be honest. That’s one of the reasons why I created this site.

For Dating… and Craigslist, too

Reverse email searches are incredibly beneficial for everyone. Statistics show we are much more comfortable meeting a new person by email than we are in person or by phone. So why shouldn’t we be able to search for them using their email and learn someone’s real identity? If you’re going out on a first date with someone you’ve exchanged emails with, I would first recommend you get their full name and address, so you can look them up. But if you forget to do that, or you find it too awkward to ask, you can do a reverse email lookup (where you plug in their email and get name, address, and phone) on them. Hey, with all the recent news craigslist killings, sex offenders, and abductions happening in quiet neighborhoos, YOU BETTER screen your date beforehand!

Jump to my Top Pick for Reverse Email Searches!*

* Includes Free Sex Offender Map! (effective. Jan 1, 2010)

You also should check out anyone you bring in your home. Shopping on craigslist can be easy and productive, but do yourself a favor and give that person who is coming over to your home a quick background check. Or at least get their address and phone number using the many online tools available. Today, more than ever, there is no excuse NOT to, and there are LOTS OF SCAM ARTISTS everywhere!

So, I’m A Cheapskate…

I tried to do the Cheap/Free approach at first. It’s kind of funny actually to think of how much time I wasted. Well, not really!?! So picture this…here I am doing a reverse email search for this guy who just emailed me in response to a bookkeeping ad I posted.

Second Place Goes To:

In the runner-up spot, with very good customer care, great U.S. converage, and a pretty good size database is Complete Detective. Between these two services, you really cannot go wrong.
There are lots of third place winners, but too many to name. You are free to search google and go through the top 10 links you see. But don’t waste your time… I’ve already done that and I’m here to help you out.

So, thanks for listening to me ramble on… Anyways, I hope you’ll find this helpful when it comes time to do some effective people searches online.
