Cyber Monday and Tips for Safe Online Shopping

Today is Cyber Monday.

For online retailers, it is when the holiday season officially starts. Here are a few tips for staying safe when shopping online.

1. Never shop on a website that does not have ‘https://’ in the URL. This means that the site is secure when ordering.

2. Popular websites like Amazon.com have a great reputation, but be sure to check if you are purchasing from Amazon, or one of their 3rd party sellers.

3. eBay has a great user feedback system, and most orders are protected by PayPal.

4. Look for trust organizations that the retailer is associated with (TrustE, BBB, Verisign).

Many deals are to be had online this year as retailers cut prices and offer incentives.
